this is a last minute entry into
 's Octopus contest. my sister forced it on me because she said i could win. i didn't think i was worthy of having my art in LeGrow-sense's book, but seeing so few entries gave me hope... what if i AM worthy?  zomg....anyway, i did this in about 4 hours. this is *only* pencil, Sharpie (fine and ultra fine point) and my Pilot G-2 07 pen. i only intensified the color slightly on photo studio because it was too faded after going through my crappy scanner. creds go to my sister who recommended a Blue-Ringed Octopus (example here: [link] ) as a model for Dinah's tentacles. that's why she has all these spots. also, thanks to her for letting me use her animal encyclopedia for the octo-model. i added the harpoon so it had that lovely element of the macabre that LeGrow-sensei's art has in spades. problem is i can't draw anyone bleeding. for the record though, it's ink, not blood. also on her fingertips. please note: Dinah's pupils resemble that of an octopus. THAT's why they're oval. octopi apparently have similar eyes to goats and horses. odd. also i cannot draw ruffles. that's why there's so few. ha. but i am proud of how this turned out. i'm happy with it. i hope Miss M.Alice finds me worthy. ^_^ [I HEREBY GIVE  PERMISSION TO USE THIS SUBMISSION!!!!] |

i thought the dress was kind of lazy - i suck at LeGrow-sensei's exagerated, complicated ruffly style, so i kind of short cut.
